Silver Lake Medical Center’s mission is to deliver quality, compassionate, safe health care to our patients and to the community we serve.
The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR) program at Silver Lake Medical Center (SLMC) is a comprehensive PMSR with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. Our program is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
Offering one position at Silver Lake Medical Center each year, the program enjoys numerous affiliations with other facilities, foremost is its partnership with Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in Fontana and Ontario.
Each year is a distinctly different experience. First year residents focus on covering a variety of surgical cases at SLMC while also rotating at podiatry offices and surgery centers in Westwood, Reseda, Encino, Hawthorne, and Los Feliz. Second year residents rotate at several medical centers including the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, Sherman Oaks Hospital, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Western University’s Patient Care Center. Third year residents are dedicated entirely to podiatric surgical cases at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in Fontana and Ontario. Our residents graduate with a very well rounded experience and with surgical numbers that far exceed the graduation requirement.
